Terms and Conditions of Flower Preservation
Your flowers may take up to 4 weeks to dry, depending on the variety of flower. Once dried, preserving the flowers in resin will take up to a week, followed by a final curing process of up to 2 weeks. These times may be reduced or increased depending on workload/capacity. Lead times are up to 12 weeks.
Fresh, undried flowers cannot be set into resin as any moisture within the blooms will cause the flowers to decompose within the resin. For successful preservation, the flowers must be as fresh as possible when we receive them. If the flowers have started to wilt or deteriorate in any way the drying process may not be successful and the flowers may not look as fresh once preserved and any browning that has already occurred cannot be reversed. It is your responsibility to ensure that your flowers arrive in the best possible condition for us to achieve the best results. We cannot be responsible for flowers that arrive damaged for any reason.
During drying, some flowers they may shrink and there may be some change in colour. Red and pink blooms in particular will darken during the drying process. This is unpredictable and unavoidable as it is part of the drying process. Flowers that have come into contact with oils from any source including being touched by bare skin will already have areas of bruising. This will appear as darker or translucent areas during the final preservation. This cannot be seen or predicted prior to completion. Some of our pieces are only suitable for very small flowers or petals. If this is the case we will do our very best to include as much as possible and as much variety inside each piece, whilst maintaining the look of the piece.
Flowers that have been chemically treated or dyed may affect the finished piece. These effects are unpredictable and can include but are not limited to, bubbling, colour leaching into the rest of the piece or cloudiness.
Preserving fresh flowers in resin is a complex process involving natural, organic matter and epoxy resin. It is impossible to accurately measure the moisture content of dried flowers at the point that they are encased in resin. Any minute residual moisture present at the time of casting in resin may cause the flowers to discolour and deteriorate after time. Whilst absolutely every care is taken to ensure the flowers are fully dry, no responsibility can be taken by ‘Happy Things by Sarah’ should such deterioration occur. Orders are accepted on the condition that this is understood and agreed and is completely at the customer’s risk. No refunds will be issued under these circumstances.
Whilst the best quality, UV resistant epoxy resin is used, pieces left in direct sunlight for a long time may, in time, lose clarity or slightly discolour. Flower colours may fade.
All of our creations are handcrafted using the best quality materials available however due to the nature of handling real dried flowers and foliage, bubbles and slight imperfections may occur although we do our absolute best to keep them minimal.
No cleaning materials should be used on finished pieces – clean only with a SOFT, DAMP cloth (water only).
All commissions deposits are non refundable unless we cannot complete the piece. Payment in full is required prior to dispatch/delivery of the final order. Unless otherwise agreed, any commission piece which remains unpaid 30 days after notification of completion becomes the property of Happy Things By Sarah who may retain, sell or otherwise dispose of that item to recoup the lost revenue.
By purchasing your flower preservation items with us you consent to us as Happy Things By Sarah using photographs and or videos of your flowers, including finished pieces for promotion.
Happy Things By Sarah may make changes to these terms of service from time to time.
